Airport Transfers
The fastest and most comfortable method to go from the airport to the Leoniki Resort is by taxi.
Both at Iraklion airport (HER) and at Hania airport (CHQ) there are taxi stands just in front of the arrival halls. From Iraklion airport the drive to Rethymnon-Platanias takes about an hour, and from Hania airport about 70 minutes.
Several international as well as several local car rental providers run their offices in the arrival halls of both airports as well.

Public busses
exist, but it is rather inconvenient to use them.
Local busses go from Iraklion airport to the town center several times per hour, and hourly  suburban busses connect on the Rethymnon during daytime. There you have then to change again to the local bus to Platanias.
From Hania airport, busses go to the town center only a few times per day. Hourly suburban busses connect on the Rethymnon during daytime, and there you have to change again to the local bus to Platanias.
In both cases transfer by public bus takes several hours. It therefore suits only for travellers who have plenty of time and very small luggage.
